It may be worth asking him about the new (just released) NICE guidelines about possible neglect that mentions 'Formally approved home education' and ask if they are aware that there is currently
no requirement for home education to be formally approved unless there is cause for concern - do they often issue guidance without checking current legislation or do they know something we don't, and what does he think about it all?...
