And I thought they were children, not pupils!

"Parents who teach their children at home will be vetted for any convictions related to abuse following recommendations in a report today.

The Elective Home Education Review was launched in January in the aftermath of the Baby P case in Haringey, north London, to ensure that home education is not used by parents as a “cover for abuse”.

and then all other parents will be vetted for their suitability to look after their children at all, presumably...

I would say there is nothing basic about an education received at home, but the box tickers will not be able to quantify or make uniform an autonomous education, so will most likely tick the box that nearest describes what they see, children receiving - no education - that the institution can recognise. And as most home educators know the benefits of autonomy are defunct once pressure to perform is added the two are just not compatable, I demand my right to educate my children according to my philosophical beliefs.
I also demand not to be discriminated against and will agree to be vetted at the same time as every non home educating parent agrees also to be vetted.
